Most people arrive with curiosity and a little nervousness. That is completely natural. A QHHT session is unlike anything you have experienced before, and not knowing what to expect is part of what makes the first time so meaningful.

I have guided many clients through this process in my practice in Laren, near Amsterdam, and no two sessions are ever the same. But there is a general flow that I can share with you, so you have a clearer picture of what lies ahead.

The Four Stages of a QHHT Session

  1. An open conversation about your life and questions
  2. Guided relaxation into the theta state
  3. Exploring past life scenes or subconscious imagery
  4. Connecting with your Higher Self for answers and healing

The Conversation Before the Session

Every session begins with a long, open conversation. This is not a quick intake form. We sit together, sometimes for over an hour, and talk about your life, your questions, and what brought you here. Some people come with a specific physical issue. Others feel stuck in a pattern they cannot explain. And some simply feel called to explore something deeper, like the quiet inner shifts that often signal the beginning of transformation.

This conversation matters because it sets the foundation for everything that follows. The more honestly you share, the deeper the session tends to go.

Entering the Theta State

After our conversation, I guide you into a deep state of relaxation known as the theta state. This is the same brainwave frequency you pass through just before falling asleep. You are not unconscious. You are not “under” in the way most people imagine hypnosis. You are deeply relaxed, aware, and able to speak.

In this state, the conscious mind steps aside just enough for the subconscious to come forward. This is where QHHT differs from ordinary hypnotherapy. We are not working with suggestions or behavioral patterns. We are opening a door to something much larger.

What You Might Experience

Once you are in the theta state, I guide you through one or more scenes. These may feel like memories, vivid images, or impressions that carry a deep emotional charge. Some clients describe visiting what appears to be a past life. Others find themselves in symbolic landscapes that mirror their current struggles.

There is no single “correct” experience. What matters is what your subconscious chooses to show you and why. I have seen clients suddenly understand the root of a fear that had no logical explanation, much like the way certain fears can feel overwhelmingly real without any visible cause.

Connecting with the Higher Self

The most profound part of a QHHT session is the connection with what Dolores Cannon called the Subconscious, or what many refer to as the Higher Self. This is the part of you that holds a broader perspective on your life, your purpose, and your healing.

During this phase, I ask the questions you prepared before the session. The answers that come through often surprise people. They are specific, compassionate, and remarkably clear. Many clients describe this as the moment that changes everything for them.

After You Open Your Eyes

When the session ends, most people feel a deep sense of calm. Some feel emotional. Some feel lighter than they have in years. I always recommend taking the rest of the day gently, drinking water, and allowing the experience to settle.

The effects of a QHHT session often continue to unfold in the days and weeks that follow. I have written separately about what happens after a QHHT session and how to navigate that process. Insights may come during dreams, quiet moments, or unexpected flashes of clarity. This is normal. The subconscious does not operate on a schedule.

Is QHHT Right for You?

If you are reading this, something in you is already curious. That curiosity is usually the first sign that you are ready. You do not need to believe in past lives or have any experience with hypnosis. You only need an open mind and a willingness to explore what lies beneath the surface. If you would like practical guidance on getting ready, here is how to prepare for your first session.

From my practice in Laren, near Amsterdam, I have seen this process bring clarity to people from all walks of life. Each session is unique, and each one reminds me why this work matters.
